“The Planet’s Bottom Line: A Call to Collective Action for Climate and Water Resilience”

Lennart Silvis is driving Royal HaskoningDHV’s global team

in AIWW2023, Best Practices, Featured, Insights, News

Lennart Silvis (Global Director Water for Industry at Royal HaskoningDHV) is driving RHDHV’s global team envisioning ‘sustainable and climate resilient industries’. Together with customers, partners and colleagues he works on climate and water related strategies and the implementation of solutions for sustainable water use. Lennart has been involved in Amsterdam International Water Week (AIWW) from the early start.

Lennart: “As a vital international platform for the water sector, AIWW stands as a beacon, uniting organizations and professionals to confront and overcome global water challenges collaboratively. From my perspective and in my professional roles, I’ve always believed in our shared responsibility to join forces. The imperative to address water problems is more pressing than ever, and we must leverage our collective knowledge and experience to find sustainable solutions. AIWW serves as the nexus where ideas transform into actions. It empowers us to forge partnerships that are not only effective but also enduring. Amsterdam is not just a venue; it’s a stage where our collective commitment to water sustainability takes center stage, and where our shared vision becomes a powerful force for positive change.”

Cases RHDHV

RHDHV has developed a holistic journey to solve strategic, tactical, and operational challenges of water utilities and industries. From investment prioritisation and nature-based treatment solutions to modular design and automation, RHDHV works alongside its customers to make sure they are ready for whatever the future holds. On the way to that mission, Lennart and his team have some inspiring success stories they have worked on:

  • Climate Risk Assessment (CRA) for 60 industrial facilities of an industrial company across eight countries in South America, link
  • Anticipating droughts by improving Water Circularity: treated wastewater as new freshwater source, feasibility and stakeholders engagement, link
  • Ephyra’s easy-to-retrofit approach boosts Dublin’s sludge treatment capacity, while saving costs and increasing biogas production, link
