Piet Dircke (Global Director Climate Adaptation at Arcadis) is involved with Amsterdam International Water Week from our very first conference, back in 2011. This is his call to join AIWW2023 – to all water leaders, experts, scientists, financers and students.
“Dear water colleagues,
We know what our problems are. We know how disastrous the consequences are for us all. We know the technical solutions to solve them. And we know how to fund them.
We know!
Now, what is holding us back to get into action? Why do we do so little? I think we don’t feel responsible enough to really do something. Since we can’t wait any longer, climate change IS real, I’d herewith like to make an appeal to you: as a leader, please set the standard to take your responsibility and accelerate the action in these times of water in transition.
