AIWW Focus Event: bringing together our core community

On October 1st we organized the AIWW Focus Event, our first online event on the road to the conference of 2021. The AIWW Focus Event brought together the core community of the AIWW, to share and discuss the key themes for our main event AIWW 2021. We’re now looking back on a successful event, a celebration of our common goals and ideas for what the future could hold in terms of water and gathered valuable input from our core members. Please read more about this event here.

In this – packed! – newsletter we announce the date for AIWW 2021, you’ll find interviews with Hasmik Barseghyan and Gertjan Medema, read more about RESILIO (Amsterdam Agreement 2019, Smart Blue-Green Rooftops) and you’ll meet Rasha Hassan, one of our future water leaders. But there’s more, as you’ll soon find out. If you like to share content via our community platform or newsletter, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

With kind regards, on behalf of the AIWW Managing Board,
Menno Holterman
Co-chairman AIWW Managing Board

RESILIO: Benefit from inventive smart blue-green roofs

Cities around the world are coping with climate change: more rain and higher temperatures. To battle climate stress, RESILIO develops 10.000m2 of an inventive network of smart blue-green roofs in Amsterdam. Their goal is to create partnerships in order to learn from each other. You can also benefit from their knowledge! The AIWW Focus Event this year was used to bringing RESILIO to the attention of cities worldwide.

Start to surf the waves of innovation

In a rapid changing world, the water sector needs to adapt and transform; to climate change, circularity, digitalization and to the changing labour market. Young professionals are the key to these transformations. European Junior Water Programme (EJWP) is a talent programme for young professionals that supports flexibility, networking and personal development within organizations, creating the next generation water leaders. EJWP2 will kick off 23 November.

If you’re interested in joining the programme, please sign up before the end of October to get on the shortlist.
