Prof. Jan Peter van der Hoek (1959, The Netherlands) is Chief Innovation Officer at Waternet, the water utility of Amsterdam and surroundings. He holds the chair Drinking Water Engineering at Delft University of Technology. He is Principle Investigator at AMS, the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions, a joint initiative by TUD (Delft), MIT (Boston) and WUR (Wageningen).
He is a member of Committee-1 of EurEau, the European Federation of National Associations of Water Services.
He is chair of the Joint Research Programme of the Dutch drinking water companies (KWR research programme), and chair of the DPWE-research group (a joint research programme of the Dutch water companies Dunea, Evides, PWN and Waternet).
He is vice-chair of the Programme Committee of the Topconsortium Knowledge & Innovation Watertechnology (a joint research programme of the water industry, end users and knowledge institutes to enhance innovation, part of the Topsector Water & Maritiem).
He is chair of the board of IWC International Water Conferences.
