Dr Ana Soares is a Senior Lecturer in Biological Engineering at Cranfield Water Science Institute, Cranfield University (Bedfordshire, UK). She has vast experience setting up and delivering successful strategic partnerships between academia and industry.
Dr Soares was the Yorkshire Water Fellow from 2006-2017 and she currently leads the Strategic Partnership with Severn Trent. The latter has been recently described as a ‘top 100 global corporate–academic partnerships’ in Earth and Environmental Sciences.
Dr Soares’ applied research explores the development and management of bioreactors employing new biological organisms, cultures or pathways in order to optimise wastewater treatment and deliver the circular economy. Her work focuses on municipal as well as industrial waste water, proposing innovative and economically feasible solutions to produce high quality effluents and product recovery.
