Current Position: Professor in Environment and Water Technology at the sub-department of Environmental Technology of Wageningen University, Director of the Wageningen institute for Environmental and Climate research (WIMEK), member of the board of Deltares and member of the board of the Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions (AMS).
Profile: He was engaged in teaching M.Sc programs of Environmental Sciences of WUR and Joined degree Water Technology at Wetsus. He lead the group in providing applied soil and water technology research projects for industrial and government clients by representing Deltares as Head of soil and water technology group. He was Head of Soil and Water Technology group at TNO.
Expertise: water technology, resource recovery, creating resilient cities, sustainable water and soil resource, Anaerobic and membrane technology for treatment of waste water aiming at recovery of organic resources management, making water re-use possible by technology for biological or physical-chemical removal of harmfull components, valorisation of soil, groundwater and sediment resources for reuse.
