Piet Dircke has 35 years of working experience on five continents in water management, urban resilience, coastal protection, urban waterfront development and climate change adaptation.
Piet was Professor in Urban Water Management at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences from 2007 till 2014. Since Hurricane Katrina he is an influential Dutch representative in knowledge exchange on climate resilience with the USA. In the USA he worked on urban resilience projects in New Orleans, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Pittsburgh, Norfolk, Charleston, Miami and Honolulu.
In Asia he was or still is involved in urban projects in Singapore, Jakarta, Semarang, Hongkong, Shanghai, Bangkok, and in Vietnam, China, Myanmar and Bangladesh.
